PART 4
'prosecutorial
misconduct?'
From court records,
Prosecutor Galanida took over, at one point, from the
witness, who was testifying then and answered all the questions coming
from the judge. When asked by the judge if there is a dental report, she
said there was none because the dentist had said “the teeth were all
broken up and down. The teeth was broken”.

DID SHE
MAKE IT UP? Prosecutor Galanida's statements in court about "broken
teeth" of the female body in Carcar did not jibe with a medical
report also presented in the same court. Galanida is now Regional Trial
Court judge in Dumaguete, a promotion after the Chiong case.
However,
close examination of the only frontal picture (below) submitted by the
police to the court, taken at the funeral parlor, shows no signs of broken
teeth.
ALL TEETH ACCOUNTED FOR. "the
teeth were all broken up and down. The teeth was broken" said
Prosecutor Galanida.
Also in the following sketches and
report from the medico legal, nothing is mentioned about any facial
injuries due to broken teeth.
The Fiscal also promised
the presiding judge to “request
the dentist to testify” but she never presented the dentist in
court.
In his affidavit to the Supreme Court, the then National Bureau of
Investigation (NBI) regional director for the Visayas accuses Mrs. Chiong
of promising the team of prosecutors handling the case with promotions.
Please see also Part 8 for the more on these promises.
Prosecutor Galanida was appointed Judge
for the Regional Trial Court Judge in Dumaguete City, a promotion
after the Chiong case. Could this be the reason for
her over-eagerness to prosecute all seven accused at all costs?
