CCA November 5, 1998 Dear Mrs. Margarita Larraņaga, I am writing you this letter to ask for your help pertaining to the incident that happened here in school last week. On October 27, 1998 around four o'clock in the afternoon Mrs. Chiong along with a companion (a Ms. Jimenea - the secretary of President Estrada) came here and demanded some school documents. She and her companion asked to see the President of the school. The president of the school was not informed about the nature of the visit and the conversation that transpired was something short of "harassment" including the defamation of character of certain persons in the school. A few statements she made was very offensive in nature according to some who overheard the exchange between Mrs. Chiong and the President of the school. This includes accusations that: 1. "Instructors and students were paid individually the sum of Php250,000.00 to lie about your son's presence here during the dates when the crimes occurred in Cebu." 2. "All students and instructors who signed the affidavit would each be investigated by her party at her own capacity." 3. She introduced herself as "I am the mother of the girl your student "raped and killed." 4.
"Your school is filled with a bunch of
paid and lying people. The school is going ....... 5. "The teachers are all liars." 6. She also claimed that she had "proof that Paco was not even a student in our institution," We have always maintained the position that we would not grant any request for interviews or commentaries about the case because we believe that the proper forum of the case would be in court and not just anywhere. The school's interest in this case is only to prove and affirm your son's presence here during July 16 and 17, 1997. The school had always been proud of the fact that we conduct our business with outmost integrity and compassion for all concerned. We do not see the need to lie, invent, perjure our way out of any position we have taken. We stand firm in our position to testify of our own personal knowledge of your son's whereabouts on July 16 and 17, 1997. However, we would appreciate if you could request the court to prevent any further incident like what transpired from occurring in the near future. We believe one of our primary duties as mentors is to protect the well-being, privacy and security of our students. May we request your counsels to inform Justice Martin Ocampo of this disturbing incident. Our security we feel is also important especially in regards to our family and loved ones. We hope that you could facilitate a prompt resolution to this matter. Being a school, CCA provides a safe and conducive environment for learning, incidence like this causes a disturbance to our faculty and students. Thank you very much, signed:
